Do any of you give treats? Is he allowed carrots/apples low sugar shop bought treats?
Also:
What the heck am I going to do if he is away until March next year????

Mine get the odd carrot or apple and sometimes a Codlivine crunchie or two (and my old lad has a passion for hot and spicy Monster Munch so we share a bag sometimes..lol). As long as you don't go mad you'll do no harm.

Buy another one?? :D

I give mine all the normal treats (plus brazil nuts) with no issues. I never go down the field without something in my pocket :p

I have a friend with a barefoot rehab (ISH doing dressage) who cannot tolerate even one carrot - but this manifests as behaviour rather than hoof pain.

Loads of treats :D He thinks they're fab! I haven't told him that High Fibre Cubes (fed two at a time) are not, in fact, treats and so far he hasn't worked it out for himself :D

My boy gets sugar free polos and the odd apple or tangerine when the fruit box has these left over at the end of a week! It seems to do him no harm at all and he adores his little treats as everything else he consumes is strictly EMS diet related...

Oh and he's very partial to liquorice too when i buy a bag!...he loves liquorice!!

I give my mare bananas, she goes absolutely crackers for them! She can smell when I have on and pulls this bizarre banana face until I've peeled it for her then she eats it in one bite!
