Has anyone got on? Or seen one? Wondering what it is like material wise. I have ridden in normal barefoots (cheyenne) but the drytex is cheaper and I would only want it for hacking so if the drytex isnt horrible I might get one.

Yup I have one!

I love mine. I have the drytex size 2. I use it for everything....(not jumping though as I dont do jumping). But fine for hacking, schooling and dressage.

It is really light. I love the material. It is very like nubuck in texture, but you just wipe it with a damp cloth when it gets a bit grubby.

I will eventually upgrade to leather I suspect but for now I love it, it is sooo comfy and my horsey loves it too.

got mine on order right now :)

I had problems ordering from H and H - they drop- ship, and I was given four different dates for my saddle to arrive, and when it didn't (4 weeks), I cancelled, really unhappy with the experience.

So I've ordered direct from Germany http://translate.google.co.uk/trans...e&hl=en&rlz=1T4SNYK_en-GBGB391GB391&prmd=ivns

and it should be here within five days, they speak lovely English, and you get a full 14 day trial, as opposed to 7 days if you buy in the UK. Postage almost the same too.

I'm thinking of getting one of these, any other experiences?

Also - Shysmum - did you have to pay any additional VAT / import tax etc when you ordered from Germany?

thanks x

hello there - I've had my drytex for a year now. If i could go back, i would have got a secondhand leather cheyenne. The drytex drives me mad as it constantly squeaks - I've changed leathers on it, tried a seat saver, and it squeaks, especially in trot - drives me nuts !!

That said, it is starting to settle down now, and I much prefer to ride in it than my GFS, and it's very easy to keep clean. For the money tho, i would go for leather secondhand if you can.

Hope that helps x

Ah - thanks that's really helpful, I had been looking out for a secondhand one, but was thinking the drytex might be a good compromise (not very patient LOL), although I did like that they where lighter.

I did have a leather cheyenne several years ago and sadly sold it (very stupid thing to do!)

thanks x
