Hi i posted a while ago about my horse being possible lo grade lami due to subtle lameness on turning tight on concrete. I was hoping to try barefoot as he has underrun heels and other weaknesses which may b part of the problem. He is an amazing be eventer and i would be gutted if hus career is over. After 2 monrhs of rest and restricted diet he was no better so nerve blicks and x rays were done. He blocked to both fronts 1 · 2 /10 lame when lungef small circle in hard. Sound to flexions on straight lines and lungef in soft. Nothing in x ray so off for mri. Mri report says cillateral ligent desmitis. My vet says its mild but explains lameness. No bursa ir navicular bone very mild inflammation to impar lig nothing on ddft. Thete is also fragmentation at the point if insertion. Now i currently have hus front shoes off frim x rays and 1 week in he us coping well. Sore in stiny ground and cautious on hard but not too bad. His hoives are better shape already! Heel looks hugher amazungly and even my vet had to agrer! Hiwever he wants him shod un heartbars and tells me they will stio the mivement that will aggrevate tge desmitis. I want to gi barefoot at least for a while to let his feet reciver. Can anyone advuse if i am doing the wring thing going against my vets advuce?? I will try post pics timorrow. Thanks
