I'm hoping to keep my 4 year old barefoot if I can. However he seems very prone to getting stones wedged down the side of his frogs. I can't think it can be anything to do with his trim can it? Is there anything I can do to help prevent it? We haven't done a lot on stoney surfaces yet, but he seems to pick up stones whenever we do.

My lad has dinner plate feet so he gets stones stuck now and then. Honestly he doesn’t even misstep but he has solid feet. Just need some brute strength to get them out!

If he's holding stuff like clods in his feet rather than flicking it out, it could be that he's landing toe first or flat. Or even just that his walk is not very active. Alternatively it could be the frog is overgrowing and closing up the collateral grooves, allowing stones to easily wedge in there. If you have other horses that this doesn't happen to, there will be a reason.
