What size saddle do you have and what is your height/dress size and the height/build of your horse? I know a size one saddle is technically for a size 10-12, but am wondering how that works out in practice. At 5'7 and a size 10/12 (closer to 12) would a size one be a snug fit or is there a bit of room to manovere? Thanks in advance :)

ETA: My horse is a 14.3 arab with a relitively prominent wither.

I'm a size 10/12 and my mare a TB with high wither. By the time I'd padded properly underneath to ensure her wither was protected, I found that the seat area was too small for me. Hard to describe - but with the saddle being flexible, increasing the padding under the front kinda folded the saddle up a bit - like those flexible (human!) shoes you see with the elastic round them, they are pulled together by the elastic - in the saddle's case it was pushed together by the padding I needed for her wither. So I was sitting too much on the cantle which resulted in her hair being rubbed under that area (the tricky shark fin wither was fine lol!)

I always found I was in the middle of the seat sizes. I felt too restricted in the size 1 and the size 2 was too big. Ended up going for a 17inch Torsion and felt fine in it as it was sort of a middle size.
The sheepskin seats do take up some room though, so a size 2 with a sheepskin seat might reduce the seat size a little.

Thank you for your replies. Seems like I may need to take a second look at which size I go for. I don't like feeling too restricted in a saddle, and as I may need to pad to accomodate my horses wither I might need the extra space of the size 2. I also have a couple of different seat savers which could be used to fill some seat room if I find I'm swimming around in it. Decisions, decisions!
