Can you help me with sizing.... Im a size 12-14 i have long legs but a smallish backside... Mare is shortcoupled can only take a 17 max in treed ... Now i know this doesnt matter with treeless but have read horses can be rubbed if its too long so which will. Be better size 1 or 2 ? I dont like to feel locked in either ... Im looking to buy second hand off ebay thanks

Definitely a size 1, as they are quite large saddles anyway. I am assuming you also have or are getting the correct pad to go underneath... absolutely essential with this kind of saddle.

agree with LBM! Barefoot are doing one now that is adjustable, not seen any second hand but i understand your problem regarding length and there is a noticable difference in 1 and 2, for example Cheyenne size 1 is 52'' long but size 2 is 58'' long , that's quite a lot.
I have a list of styles and sizes ( except the very newest) :)
also note that older models have a zip on the cantle, better if you buy newer as they have the vps system and i've noticed sellers are lying about age on ebay to get maximum bids.
good luck!!

I've given up on getting a Barefoot to fit either me or my horse.

As a rider, I'm a size 16 - and when I tried the Size 2 Cherokee it was way too big for me and the horse. I slipped around in the damn thing and it was way way too big for my short-backed 15hh traddie cob.

I tried a size 1 - and that was way too small. I just didn't have room to move in it and the seat in particular didn't have enough room; in rising trot my pube bone kept knocking against the pommel of it :(

I've also tried the Barefoot London size 1 and had exactly the same problem, I've not tried a London size 2 yet but suspect it would be way too big :(

Think they need to get their act together PDQ and start making saddles that actually fit REAL people!!

They need to get a size that is somewhere between a size 1 and a size 2 IMO. Their sizing is total pants......

I was considering a barefoot saddle and had the same issue. Size 14/16 which recommends a size 2 but have a short back highland so didn't think it would work. Would like a treeless saddle but think I may have to go for an adjustable tree. Pony is just being backed just now.

Aim waiting for a TC to arrive for fast work and jumping and so just looking for something for longer hacks and pleasure rides so want to be comfy how do you guys find the barefoot for long rides etc thanks
