What is the average time between trims for a barefoot horse, can anyone advise

Whilst it depends on the horse I had my 3 trimmed every 4 weeks in the summer and every 6 weeks over the winter.

Trimming my own, it’s a little every few days. I left mine for a fortnight recently, and it was too long.

Mine is on a four-week cycle with an EP. With the farrier we had (very good at his job, but just couldn't fit everyone in and sadly we had to let him go) we were on a five-week cycle.

I would suggest you ask your foot-care professional how often your particular horse needs doing; and follow whatever advice they give you. IMO better to have a shorter cycle than a longer one.

Mine are done by a farrier, and they are done every six weeks in the winter and every four/five weeks in summer, this is basic, but it depends on the individual horse.

Does your horse do un-booted road work, and land fairly evenly? If so, they can usually go a little longer.

No roadwork, one is 17 years, non ridden pony, other one is 3

Every 4-6 weeks, depending on workload, growth cycle, any conformation issues and whether the owner can tidy up between trims.

4 weeks if you’re paying. I do roonis every week in summer and every 2 weeks in winter. Little and often.
