Barking dog

One of my neighbours complained that my dog is barking when in the garden, Now I know she does bark when she hears cats etc but I dont think its excessive.
Shes never left out there when Im not in and if she does bark i bring her in.Have I got any thing to worry about? any tips to keep her quiet when in garden, Its mostly when she hears next doors cats. She has plenty of excercise.
 
If your neighbour complains to Environmental Health, she will be asked to fill out a diary over 3 weeks of the dog barking.
You will also be notified that a diary is being kept.

As far as I am aware, for it to be classed as nuisance barking, it either has to go on for a sustained amount of time, or at an ungodly hour of night/morning.

From what you have said, your dog would not be classed as a nuisance.
 
Thanks, I never let her bark as when she does i call her in or tell her to be quiet. Lots of near by dogs bark more than her but the neighbour say its only mine she hears
 
I agree with quirky - certainly doesn't sound like its excessive. Dogs will bark, cats will cr@p in your borders and you are awakened at the crack of dawn by the song of a blackbird, such is life!:)

Exactly!! Although in my case it's pidgeons cooing outside my bedroom at stupid o'clock. Anyway no I wouldn't say you have anything to worry about, I've known far FAR worse. I would point out all of what you have said to your neighbour, it's really not that much of a big deal. She barks, you bring her in end of. Your neighbour sounds like a moaning minnie.
 
Wow, she should be glad she doesn't have my neighbours. Their dogs bark non stop day and night. I have woken at 3-4am and they are still barking! I have no idea how they sleep. The longest I have noted is 4 hrs non stop.
