Tips on stopping your dog from barking at the door bell ? My dog barks non stop and then when i answer the door she barks at the person there and it drives me insane !!

My dog does the same but actually I don't mind it especially in this day and age.

My friend had this problem. What she did was have someone ring the doorbell and walk in the house, completly ignoring the dog and then made a fuss of the dog when it had calmed down. She repeated this until he wasnt bothered when the doorbell rang and the dog is alot better now!!!

I have the opposite problem - I want the dog to bark when there is someone at the door but he won't!

This would be my approach. Have a volunteer outside. Put your dog in his place- be it his bed or wherever. Get them to ring the door. If he goes to the door then correct him and put him back in his place. When he stays there then open the door. Do not let him approach the person. If he gets up put him back. Invite the person in making sure they avoid eye contact and dont make any fuss of him. When the dog finally settles invite him over to say hello. It will take practice but this has always worked for me.

Cocker spaniels could still get a grip round some balls.......!

My dog barks at a knock at the door, he's started doing it recently (still got his bits...), but I really like it. Makes me feel safer.
