Barnes Buckle

Am looking at getting a pair to help me bail out if Rage disappears underneath me again

Anyone used these? And anyone got a pair lurking that they don't get on with?!

A couple of people that hunt with us have them. Don't know what they think of them though??

I used to ride a working livery that had them on his stirrups. No idea why because he was a sane and lovely schoolmaster. They're a bit clunky in terms of the natural feel of the stirrup as I found I had to position the stirrup with my hand before putting my foot in rather than just poking it round with my toe. They jangle a bit but don't really feel any different once you are riding. No idea if they actually work because I never fell off him

Brill, thanks! Just didn't want to get a pair and then find they were unbearable to ride with...

We use these on our TB- they don't affect the way you ride at all, I don't even know they are there (other than you have to take your stirrups up a couple of holes to accomodate them). I can't say how they fare in an emergency situation, as luckily (touch wood!) this has never happened to me.
