Barney seems to keep getting infections - immune system problem?

Barns had problems with conjunctivitis for ages now he keeps getting it but the eye drops from the vets do clear it up quickly. He now looks like he has an infection in his boy bits :o I'll be taking him to the vets (can I get a discount .. he's in practically every week! :p) but just wondered how he's managed to get a infection down there and could it be connected to the conjunctivitis? Or could he have a problem with his immune system?
 
Just a load of pus coming out hes not struggling to wee or anything and the vet seems to think its just dirt getting into his eyes but I'm not sure :/
 
Yup :/ barns a bit of a delicate pup, but he thinks hes a big tough macho man :p and he sticks his head in everything! Straight in stinging nettles, bushes ect
