What are peoples opinions on the Barnsby Felt/Latex Panels, fallen in love with one and just want to know what people think as have only normally had flocked saddles. Any pros or cons ?

Foam panels are not as adjustable as a flocked panel but they do "bounce back" after each ride, not moulding to the back - they cope with a fraction more change in the shape of a horse because of that, and are useful in yards with multiple horses and saddles needing to fit several of them. They can often be shimmed (ie felt or similar inserted between panel and tree) but usually are adjusted using riser pads etc.

A minority of horses will express a preference between flock or foam, but most will go happily in either as long as the saddle fits!

I have a couple of these, a Whitaker with latex panels and a Milton with foam and felt panels. Have found that they tend to fit everything, mould to the horse and give you a lovely feel as there is no bulk. My horses all go well in them and I use the saddles on varying shapes of TB. I know there not as adjustable but thats not been an issues as they have sat nicely on everything I use them on.

I picked up another Barnsby CC saddle with a wool panel and it's definately not quite as good at fitting different shapes of horse, thankfully it does fit the one it was bought for a treat though :)

I love Barnsby saddles, as do my horses it seems..! :)
