Barnsby grip pad

Thinking about getting one and would welcome your views on them. I would be using it on a round cob under a dressage saddle. Would one of these help stop my saddle slipping to the right? Any other recommendations welcome.

My saddler recommends yacht matting or equivalent - the stuff you can buy from camping supply type shops in rolls. Just cut a bit to fit the saddle - it really works and is cheap as chips! Give it a try and see if it works for you - then perhaps try the more expensive purpose made versions!
 
I have one and it was fab! :) It did just the job on my barrel of a WB, under her albion GP (past tense as she's now retired).
 
Yes its another vote from me. I use them on my Welsh X as we struggled to get 100% perfection saddle fit so compromised with a Barnsby Pad and good old fashioned breast girth. Just his shape and his action were causing movement and have no problems now.:)
 
They are fab! :D

I use them on my low withered, flat backed and w-i-d-e anglo-arab.

It would also be good to check that you are sitting straight as I was a bit wonky because of an injury but the grip-pad and being made aware of my position (AKA being souted at a few times by an instructor ;) ) has really helped.
 
As others have said, check the fit of the saddle and that neither yourself or your horse are wonky :)

The Barnsby grip pads are well worth their money, it's the only thing that keeps the small ginger ponies saddle in place when she bucks.
 
You can get mesh pads to stop the saddles moving as well- goes on their back then saddle cloth/saddle on top- i just ordered some as an interim measure until my saddler comes out to adjust the flocking in mine-got it from ebay shop 60x 60 cm mesh £3.99 plus postage!
