I have been saving for a saddle.
I'd like something made to measure that will last my horse & I. We're currently using a second hand adt/ideal saddle.
My dream is a Ryder saddle but they don't trade in and are therefore out of my budget. I want an easy life which is why trade in is import to me & I can't afford to buy one yet if they don't t trade in!
So I've been looking about & I like the look of a Barnsby. Has anyone had one made before? Which model did you buy and why?
I'd like a gp/jump saddle as we do a bit of everything.
All opinions welcome.
Thank you :)

Made to measure is no more likely to last your horse longer, and in fact could cause more issues, they somehow seem to be a less versatile fit. If you search the forums you'll find they don't have a higher success rate than standard saddles overall. They are often not adjustable in the tree (there have been issues with the iTree, these may have been sorted) and you are not protected by law if you want to return the saddle. In stock standard saddles come with a legal 7 day trial even if the fitter doesn't tell you about it!

I know we take trade ins of almost any brand and type so there must be plenty that do.

i have a barnsby gp( cant remember which model ) a lovely, comfortable saddle which i bought new and had fitted by a professional saddle fitter. its not too forward cut but i can jump in it although havent done for a while..i tried loads before i found this one and i feel very secure in it..

I bought a brand new Barnsby Theoden a year ago. I loved riding in the saddle but had terrible trouble with it in relation to the quality of workmanship.
The customer service from Barnsby was excellent throughout, which for me was their saving grace, and 6 months in and after numerous visits I got a refund.

I have the barnesby shokamole jump I love it a lot !! Fab for my position, to school as well as jump & I ride long when I school
Its recently been changed by my saddle fitter from a wide which I bought it as to a medium due to my youngster changing shape
Saddle fitter who is probably 1 of the best in the country really rates barnsby saddles a lot

Thank you - very good advise, I am going to google iTree too as I've read about it on the Barnsby website and thought it sounded fantastic...need to learn about these problems.

Had mine professionally fitted earlier this year, I think it's great and from the change in my horses way of going I would say he does too! Really love their dressage saddles they seem to put me in a much better position than most but I just can't afford a dr and a jump so have a gp. The I tree sounds really good, would be interested to learn more about it. I got mine brand new, fitted (with a horse who is awkward to fit) and the 1st re flocking for less than the price my saddle is advertised at on the website. PM me if you would like the details of the lady I used, would highly recommend her. :)

I've just bought a Barnsby I-Tree dressage saddle for my youngster. I've only ridden in it once due to the weather (don't want to get it wet!), but I have to say I'm delighted with it, and mine does appear to be well made.
