Well full update videos and pics when I get home but event now over for me. Did another poor drssage although finding some some improvements that I can work with.

Walked the xc again today which was fairly soft fpor a 2* and well within Sarnies capibility however the ground has dried out very significantly and is rock hard in places. I have a qualifying result at this level, I am not likely to pull up enough to get placed particularly over a relatively straightforward course and Sarnie is jumping brillantly. I have decided that I don't want to jar her up or worse damage a tendon so have withdrawn. At the end of the day I am now bringing a healthy confident horse home.

Some people might think I'm mad but it has certainly not been a wasted trip I have had 2 weeks training and invaluable experience and a run a great run over a tough CIC** course. Will able to leave in good time tomorrow now and should be home lte Wednesday.

sounds a sensible decision to me as you had a cracking run last week. So well done you. and as you say you get to come home with a sound horse and you don't risk losing confidence over poor going.

Well done on last week. I am very impressed that you have had 2 weeks training I expect that has really bought you both on.
So advanced next? Maybe Withington?

wise decision, you know the course wouldn't present her with any difficulty and if you haven't done a good dressage, you may as well not risk her.
As you say, a real learning curve and it should fill ypou with confidence.
Safe journey home.

Sounds a perfectly justifiable decision, you dont want to ruin a whole season just for one run, specially after the fantastic ru you had over the CCI**. Look forward to seeing pictures

I did wonder when I saw that you hadn't done the XC. My first thought was that it probably wasn't worth running - I'm glad it's that and not an injury. There is always another day.
