Well the first competition has now been completed. As I posted we had a poor dressage as the atmosphere got to Sarnie a bit.

The cross Country was very big with a few tough combinations. It wasn't a long course but had plenty of turns. I certainly felt a bit aprehensive as it was our first run since last June and perhaps I should have chosen something easier! I needn't of worried
she jumped a super round. The fence I was most worried about a big spread stride to a huge vounce she coped with very well and she jumped the double into the water nicely which would certainly be the biggest she has jumped into to water. I was so suprised I managed
to drop my reins on landing! Luckily there was long enough to the jumps out to gather the knitting and steer. We were not that fast particularly as after the water I turned the wrong way. I was definatly a bit rusty and missed her a couple of times at a few big spreads but she is
very clever and basically ignored my mistakes!

Showjumping was today and was a extremely twisty course and up to height. It caused no end of trouble with less than a third going clears which seeing the class was made of 3 and 4* horses was surprising.
I was a bit nervous but she jumped a super clear not touching a fence. So a double clear and we finished 50th of about 90 which wasn't too bad. Andrew Hoy won and was 3rd.

A few quiet days now off to explore Lisbon tomorrow before we start to get ready for the CCI. Hope it cools down a bit as well as the sunburn is starting to hit. Have some good video and photos which I will upload when I get home.

Mum is out here with me.

Yes we do still train with A although she may not want it shouting too loudly until our dressage scores improve!

They are going well Inigo Jones and Prince were both in and around the top 10. All had show jump faults though. I should think she has a good chance of a good result next week.

Wow SJ fab report and Sarnita is a remarkable mare, a double clear at that level is just fantastic, will look forward to seeing the photos, a huge well done and good luck for the CCI
