So will be riding in Ireland for JP and only coming over here for the big races. I quite understand, the travelling must wear you down, but I will miss him! Hopefully he will come over every Saturday?
With him being here less and no AP jump racing has got a personality vacuum among the jockeys. I like Sam T-D very much, but none of Nicky Henderson's back up team come across as very exciting, although perfectly good riders.
What do you think?

I am not a huge fan of Barry so that's fine. I was wondering who will be Nicky Henderson's top jockey.
I am a huge fan of Sam TD.
What about Nico de Boinville, I thought he interviewed very well?
I am sure as the season gets going the 'characters' will emerge.

Nico is OK...not very good looking which of course makes no difference at all. LOL!
I do like having a jockey to follow, it has always been AP.
How can you not like Barry - those eyes and that voice!

I'm not a Barry fan either. He couldn't ride my horse to save himself so I am quite happy if he is only over on Saturdays.

Nico should take over at Seven Barrows. He has been a great understudy lets just hope he gets the chance to prove himself as number 1.

There are plentiful decent young jockeys about, one of our ex-jockeys is very good and should go on to do good things but he seems to have hit a bit of a slow spot now he has let our yard which is a shame.

It does seem difficult for young jockeys to keep going when they lose their claim. EKW you can probably answer this - how come Sean Bowen is still riding in Conditional races, I always thought thet only appled until you had a certain number of winners, surely he must have had that by now?

It's his age I think. He is still young lol! He has had 60 winners so far so still has a 3lb claim in anything other than Conditional races. He will be a force to be reckoned with and if he carries on how he started he will be taking the Champions crown before too long!

I agree Clodagh, its a bonus if they are good looking too! But sorry Barry doesn't light my fire on that front either.
Trouble is I'm old and still hanker after John Francome!!

I really like Barry Geraghty, I always feel confident that he gets the best out of a horse without being reckless ( if that makes sense!)

I hope Nico takes over at Seven Barrows as I think he rides beautifully, I really loved his ride on Carruthers when he won at Newbury, coaxing the best out of him.

Yes Nico is a lovely rider, and with all the opportunities he should get it can all only help.
David Bass is a nice jockey, but he always seems to be second, ditto Andrew Tinkler, any ideas why?
