Where do you get them adjusted? i'm now looking at buying a 2nd hand st merryn, person selling says it can be adjusted by a saddler but i've just spoken to my local saddler who won't do them. Seller says to get Barry Swaine out to do it, but i'm not sure how to contact him. I've contacted a company that I thought was his (it came up 1st when I googled 'Barry Swaine contact'), only to be told that they are in Surrey and its too far to come out to deepest darkest Wales. So, has anyone ever had one of these saddles adjusted?? or does anyone know where Barry Swaine is based?
Thanks!

They're based in Walsall. I had my saddle reflocked and adjusted by them. Any saddle fitter can take a template for you and u can send it off to Barrie et al. But I would only allow someone who is pukka BS expert to touch my saddle. What do u want adjusted? The tree, flocking or both?

fantastic thankyou, i'll give them a ring and see what they can do. I havent actually got the saddle yet, but I think it might be a touch too wide, but if I could get someone in the know to actually fit it to him would probably be the best thing and they can decide what adjustments need to be done.
Thanks again

You can also take your horse to Barrie - I knew someone in Northampton who did that, I am told they have somewhere you can ride at all paces.

Adjusting the tree is interesting as the saddle is placed on a pole with two pressure pads pushing down on the outside. Sending the saddle off is no issue. The serge panels will flatten over time. Check for lumpiness/uneveness. If the saddle has a serial no u can ring the workshop and they will tell u the history, made date, who owned and when it was reflocked etc. They are great saddles. Very comfy.
