Duke is very handsome.

I did notice though, it states he is entire. Surely a charity should be neuturing dogs before rehoming. Especially a breedlike GSDs which need extensive health checks before breeding. Any numpty could end up popping puppies out of them.

Actually just looking, a lot of them aren't neutured and also aren't up to date with vaccinations.

TBH I find that quite worrying

Well, I can't speak for them and I can't say that this is a copper-bottom guarantee, but they do say:

-(we refuse dogs) to any applicants who intend to use any dog for breeding, as we have a no breeding policy. The rescue is not in a financial position to spay/neuter before adoption, but at the time of adoption you will be asked to sign an agreement that the dog will be taken to the vet for this procedure to be carried out as soon as feasible after the adoption. You will be asked to provide evidence that the procedure has been carried out. Some dogs will have already been neutered or spayed by their previous owner.

Looking at their site, they seem to try and get the dogs out of their situation (kennels, death row, abusive home) first and get them into foster ASAP.
If every dog (and there are many) was neutered at point of rescue, there would be a lot foster homes coping with a lot of confused dogs (some of which have already been through trauma) with buster collars on and being on restricted exercise.

I home check for this rescue. As CC says part of the rehoming contract states that the dog must be castrated/spayed. They do follow up and check it has been done . I have recently done a home check for some people who were looking for a male, think I'll give them a quick call and see if they have seen Duke

Can you ask if (sable) Max and Jet are sorted? And did you hear what happened to Della?

Sorry for all the questions, not that I have the room or the permission to bring any more home

I emailed them about helping out with homechecks over here but they never replied, if you want to mention that to your contacts

Will see what I can find out. Tbh the communication is a bit crap at the moment. As you prob have seen they are being threatened with legal action by the RSPCA and so think they are pretty stressed

A friend of a friend helps out the Greater Manchester police with their brood bitches, I mentioned Della and I think she was going to try and find out a bit more about her and hopefully help with rehoming her.
Will also jog memories about your homecheck offer.

It upsets me so much to read about these cases - poor Duke and yet he obviously remains trusting.

Do you remember when you used to have to have a license to own a dog? Shame it couldn't be reintroduced - it might just save one or two dogs from such awful owners
