any recommendations where i can get a nice one that is also not too pricey and is also green?! :D all the ones i keep seeing are black or white (boring!). My OH suggested canterbury sports and they don't do green in the ladies but they do in kids and thought a large kids might do the trick... any ideas?

Our local town is quite sporty (hockey and rugby) and so local sports shop had a great selection of colours in all sizes. I think it is easier to work out sizes as well rather than guessing (to buy online). Mine was £25 I think.

Mine is a Boys Rugby Skin!
I'm 5'5 and a size 6/8 and think it's an age 12!
I stole it off my brother who got it from JJB sports!

diggerbez - sorry no help on the baselayers in green........but I spotted you with your lovely doggies @ Eland today.

I was at the catering van with the 'good looking' but very noisy fox terrier!!!

Wanted to say 'hi' but I wasn't 100% sure it was you...well done today

oh you should have said hello :D i was too busy trying to balance food/ drinks / whippets and sulky OH :D but i do remember your noisy pooch! :D

I thought Chloe_GHE had a Canterbury one in green, it might be worth PMing her :).

Well remembered Jumptoit! I'm impressed :)

Diggerbez I did buy the Canterbury green kids large baselayer (and had it personalised!) but if I'm honest it was always a little bit small. It was a tight fit which was what I wanted but the sleeves and body were a bit too short so you had to wear it tucked in.

I went into sports direct yesterday to buy running gear and in their football bit they had lots of green goalie tops which were really nice colours and special whicking material so there might be worth a look....

Here it is they do a kids one too so a large kids in that might be perfect fit - http://www.sportsdirect.com/umbro-england-home-goalkeeper-shirt-2009-2011-371099

it looks darker on the web than in the flesh, it's bottle green, and has nice ribbed detail on the arms (I know coz I spent a long time holding it feeling the fabric and loving the greenness until my OH pulled me away saying 'Chloe you do NOT need a goalie top!' I did however manage to make him buy a pair of green and white running shorts so it wasn't a wasted journey!)

Here's another one - http://www.sportsdirect.com/nike-aston-villa-goalkeeper-shirt-junior-2009-2010-378188

and another - http://www.sportsdirect.com/nike-tw-brasil-jsy-jn03-621283

ok last one - http://www.sportsdirect.com/nike-long-sleeve-hammarby-jersey-621260

hope that helps! :)

thanks for all the wonderful suggestions people...not supposed to be on here (at work ;) ) so will check them all out later :D

If the big brands aren't coming up with anything suitable try Ember Merino.

I came accross them at a craft fair and hubby bought a green short sleeved top from them. They have some lovely gear, slightly different styles to the usual and all excellent quality. They are a two man business so quite small but nice stuff.

It is all made from merino wool which is wicking, quick drying, and smell resistant.

You should find them by googling.

I've got a North Face base layer that I wear for XC but it's in boring black, not sure if they do them in other colors. I was doubtful that it's be too warm but wore it yesterday over my sleevless show shirt with my body protector as didn't have time to do a full change and was pleasantly surprised that I didn't over heat.

Try www.wiggle.co.uk they've got a huge range of base layers intended for cyling/running

and the winner is.... the ones LEC suggested, they look very smart :D and managed to find them for £17 + P&P which i think is very good value

thanks HHO shoppers :p
