Bates saddle

No problems at all- I love mine. Really good value and comfortable too. Plus its really useful being adjustable.

I love mine, they are well made saddles, but my saddler advised they dont fit everything cos of shape of tree. Get a pro fitter out before buying anything

I had the Bates Caprilli and although I loved it, after having lessons with a top instructor, Roxy changed shape and so I had to part ex it in as it didn`t fit when I tried the different sized gullets.
A lovely saddle, I had the brown one. I would love to have another and get a local saddler to fit it to her.

I love mine, in fact I love it so much that I bought exactly the same saddle when the original one was stolen. I bought it for my new horse but it actually fits my other horse too, in fatc it fits Robin better than his own saddle did so I sold it. I use mine regularly on 2 different horses and don't have to worry about it getting pushed inot the wrong shape because it has cair instead of flocking.

We've just bought a second hand one from ebay for my mum's pony and it fits really nicely. Both of ours are the caprilli close contact jump, and the only thing I would change about it is the shade of the brown, wish they did a more normal havanna.

Yes! I totally agree, when i first got mine (Brown Bates Caprilli GP) i thought ummmm interesting colour of brown. But it has darkened a lot from oiling it, thank god, and i quite like it now. Also when i did get it new i got the Bates leathers and they were a completely different brown. Luckily they are the same colour now.

Hi,
I have the Bates Caprilli saddle, it is lovely and comfortable, and i have had no problems with it with both of my horses. However my saddler said that the air pockets do not ensure even weight distribution as well as normal flocking. He also said that the cair system does last as long as normal flocking and with regular use, eventually i will need to get the whole lot taken out and relflocked with regular saddle flocking and then restitched, which will be quite an expensive process so this would be something to consider when buying. Hope this helps
Kate
