Bates saddles

Has anyone got the reddy colour one?

Ive just bought some Bates leathers to go with it and they are different colours! Will the leathers go the same colour as the saddle once Ive treated them?

Is this synthetic? I have the newmarket coloured one. I got it on ebay and the "leathers" too. I doubt they'll change at all if they're not leather.

Could be worse, I used our plastic leathers, in newmarket brown, on our nice expensive black leather saddle for a while! Now that looked a treat.....

Bates are the leather ones.... I know what you mean about the colour change, I use jeffries oakbark leathers on my Bates jump saddle and the colour isnt too different!! ETS use the Jeffries ones as the Bates ones were alot darker brown?!

I think they are the leathers Ive got at the mo, but Ive wanted bates leathers for ages! They do look abit dry, so Im hoping that with some leather cream they will go abit darker!

I cant wait till my horse has finished growing, then I can buy another Albion in BLACK and never have these colour probems ever again!

The leathers will darken down a little but if there is a great difference in colour I doubt if they will ever match.

I would urge you however to only use Bates leathers with a Bates Saddle as if you use any other they mark the saddle badly.

Yes, thats true, if only I was told that when I bought the saddle a few years ago! The Bates leathers are lovely though and Im gonna try my hardest to make them match!
