I'm hoping to purchase a trailer fairly soon and have been looking online at these 2 trailers. Both are a similar price and spec. I have read in older threads about the CL trailers being quite flimsy and ageing quite badly - is this still the case? Both seem to get good reviews for being easy to tow and giving the horse a comfortable ride.
I do like the look of the CL country touring trailer as it has the full height storage and a full height jockey door.
By comparison is the Bateson storage very usable?

Many thanks

Hi, I went to view the CL trailers as I really did like them and would have bought one, but there were no upper doors over the rear ramp and I like to travel my horse with one door closed. I'm looking to buy a Bateson now though I would like a Fautras, they're too expensive!

I have a CL and wasn't sure about the roller blind at the back but it's fine, nice and airy. I'm not entirely sure but I think the Bateson was a bit short for my lengthy horse so if your horse is 6'9" rugs or more, you may wish to check the internal measurements carefully.

Btw I'm someone who ended up with a short bathtub because I'd measured the space incorrectly so I'm not reliable! But I remember hubby and both thinking a Bateson would be a bit tight and we didn't have any locally that we could borrow to check.

I'll be interested to see what people say here. I love the look of the CL's you mentioned but when I asked they were still fairly new & people saying they must be flimsy like the older ones - hoping someone has tried & tested one now.

One of my liveries have the CL Touring, she travels her 16.3hh warmblood. It certainly looks smart and the side windows look like they'd give plenty of ventilation. I like the look of the storage too. She hasn't had it long so how robust it is remains to be seen.
