I am going to look at a ten year old bateson trailer this afternoon. It is for sale at £2K (which seems a lot to me) Does anyone know anything about these trailers - whether they are any good? heavy/light, floors rot etc? Thanks for any advice/experiences/rumours! - good or bad!

I have a Bateson Ascot- totally love it, is the Boston the one with the american style doors at the back?

My trailer is new so the floor is galvanised not sure whether the old ones have wooden floors.

i have a second hand bateson, is about 7yrs old, has aluminuim floor, absolultly love it! was 1600 from ebay, bargian!

I have a 1998 Bateson Derby (smallest of the range) which I bought last year.

I personally love my little trailer - light and airy and very well made - tows like a dream. Would definately buy another one.

I paid £1500 for mine, but it was from a dealer, fully serviced with nearly new tyres, recently replaced floor and ramp and in very clean condition. He also replaced the damper unit for me as I said it felt like it was not working as well as it could when braking.

That seems a lot of money for a 10 year old trailer.....Look on ebay. There are some much newer trailers and also horsequest.co.uk or .com are great.
Good luck. I got my first trailer last year - never looke dback since!

Thanks everyone. I went to look at it but on pulling up the rubber matting found a small hole at the back in the wood floor and some other wear and tear in the floor so decided £2K was too much for it. Unfortunately i live a bit far away from most ebay trailer ads (in North wales) but will keep looking....thanks again
