Hi all, I'm thinking of swapping my aging Ifor Williams 510 trailer for a Bateson Deauville trailer with Boston doors. I'm going to be using the trailer for my horses (14.2 Connie and a 15hh Appaloosa) as well as probably transporting my goats in it. I've seen on the Bateson website that they do a livestock partition, does anyone know if these can be bought and fitted to a secondhand trailer? And also does anyone have any problems with their saddles on the saddle racks at the front? I have Treeless saddles and I'm worried they may fall off the poles. If anyone has any pictures of their Deauville trailers that show saddles on saddle racks or tie up rings etc I would love to see them, thanks in advance.

I've had one for years and love it. My horse was a tricky loader with a ramp but hops straight in with the doors, we did have a problem with the doors rattling really badly but managed to stop it by tightening up and shimming various hardware. With hindsight we should have sent to Bateson for a service as they'd have done a better job!

Bateson seem to sell all their parts singly if you need them, they're really responsive to emails so try emailing them and asking :). I see you're in Ireland, how far is your nearest Bateson dealer? IME they prefer to send big parts to their dealers and you have to pick them from there.

I removed the saddle rack from mine as I felt it took up too much space in the nose of the trailer and I didn't want to risk a saddle falling off and getting trampled. If keeping a saddle in the tow car isn't an option then I'd recommend the Ascot instead. One thing I didn't like is that there's only 1 tie ring on each side and they're not a great place to tie a haynet. I've compromised and tie haynets to the partition but it means you can't use haybags or anything that might spin around.
