We had a Derby and loved it. Bought it second hand and sold it just over a year later for only £200 less than we paid for it despite the credit crunch. Never had any complaints about it and we drove it from Bristol to Sussex and back to pick up a pony.

Have bought a new Deauville, tows beautifully, horse loads and travels nicely, easy to maintain, very pleased. Independant suspension helps, partition easy to take out, very adjustable for fussy loaders, nothing bad to say at all, in the two years I have owned. Good Head Office folk, very helpful.Would prefer to any other make, and I considered lots.

I have the Derby and love it. Yesterday I borrowed a friend's Richardson, and whilst it is a nice trailer - I needed something to take my cob and a pony, the fixings are not as nice as the Bateson.

Bateson is well made, light inside and very stable and easy to tow.

I would certainly get another one.

Many thanks for all your replies, very helpful. Hopefully going to look at one later this week,,, very excited now

I had a Deauville a few years ago and I loved it. They seem very inviting for the horse because they are light & airy, look smart, well made, (think they now have plastic floors same as Ifor Williams ?) lovely people to deal with, will answer any questions you might have, Bateson seem to hold their value very well and they come up like new after a quick hose down.
