have been looking for AGES for a Bateson Ascot or Deauville and either they are millions of miles away (i'm willing to travel but from Oxfordshire to Scotland for a trailer, umm,NO) or they are non existent.Willing to either pay for a nearly new one or a much older one, just def want the tack store etc in it but apart from that not fussed.

LOL they are few and far between unfortunately as i've been looking for one for ages.....am thinking I might just have to settle for a 510....

Very frustrating knowing what you want...

Why a Bateson? I havnt had any experience of them, whats the advantages over other trailers such as the richardsons/ifors?

Batesons are excellent - way better than Ifors IMO. I got my one from Inverness from a dealer, not much help for you (probably the Scottish one you mention!).

There's usually some in the back of Horse Deals magazine that I see.

Think that is the dealers along from me you must be talking about, there are loads of Batesons there, but yes, bit of a trek up here for a trailer!

they have the independant suspension,so less rattley and a much smoother ride for the horses,i have a nervy mare that won't travel in a lorry after a v.bad experience so sold my lorry to get a trailer,i've had a ifor before and i personally wouldn't have one again.would go for a independant suspension Monarque also but they are even scarcer thean the Batesons!!!!! never been keen on Rice trailers,my old pony had one and i found them rather dark and not the best ride. Everyone has their own preferences though,i just fancied a Bateson and knowing me i won't give up till i get one,if it comes to it i'll get a new one.

there is a dealership near me and i'm soooooooooooooo tempted to go and order one but i've just spent 20K on a new 4x4 so my OH would kill me if i did that, quite literally, although not one penny of it would be his money anyway!!!!

Have you looked on Ebay? I bought mine from there. It's not a great time of year to be buying a trailer though as everyone is using them. Plus with the Bateson being lighter weight and fuel being so expensive, everyone will be keeping hold, I think..

What is your budget? I have an Ascot that I am going to want to sell as I am getting a lorry when I can find one - it has been used about 10 times tops, is 16 months old, have full size breach and breast bars too - bit of foam has been bitten off one of the short breast bars, and a few scratches on the drivers side inside as my mare fell over in it, other than that it is in top nick.

PM me.

dont give up i really wanted a new richardson with the plastic life time garenteed floor, but couldnt afford a new one. one turned up on ebay with a high start price and nobody bid so i sent them a message at the send of the auction and put in a offer and picked it up the next day, i paid 2500 for a 10month old railer used once so think i got a bargain took 6months to find what i wanted but so glad i waited and didnt give up. dont like ifor williams the bouce to much empty
