Bath and West

Oh crap!!! So just Oasby and Poplar running this weekend.

Weather is beautiful here in Essex today and has been for a few days - lovely blue skies - hope it stays like this!!

I'm suprised now - thought the weather this week might have helped improve things enough for it to run.
Belmont will be absolutely packed now, glad we didn't bother entering on a ticket.

Larkhill also

was hoping to get a late entry on sunday after going xc schooling. I just cant risk entering not having jumped him over something solid.

Perhaps Sapey will be our best bet.

Found sj in Cornwall and dressage at Duchy so may try and do both if duchy have any spaces left. Will be the first time we travel a mare and a stallion to a show so should be fun!
Belmont have accepted an online entry so fingers' crossed it will go through, we had planned to go there anyway but were waiting to see how the lad went this weekend before entering.
There must be so many people who haven't seen a Xc fence yet this year, it'll be interesting to see if it makes a difference in the results.

BSJA for me then which is a bit of a relief as trying to get to grips with a new bit so will be good to have another week in it before Aldon.

hi

gutted for you guys..

however i spoke to a person yesterday who runs a 'outdoor experience' place, you know the off roading / shooting etc...

anyway - their groundsman said it will take AT LEASAT 1 month of dry weather to get the ground back to 'normal'. not just a few days of clear skies.

This recent rain i htink has done alot more than we realise.

Hope everyone has a good and safe w/end!!!

Just looking at Belmont bet they are glad they introduced intro this year as 181 entries. Seems running an intro is a real cash earner. Only 70 ish entries for Pn over 2 days. It stikes me that by running a grassroots event with intro you get 3 times more entries than if you ran a PN/Novice event. Also Zara has Tiger Lilly entered is that the coloured horse the queen bred and was in the photo of Queen, Anne and Zara?

Thats right Lec, Tiger Lilly is the little coloured mare

There seems to be a few events around that date, Goring seem to be struggling for entries so far, with Larkhill and Belmont over the same week.

Henryhorn - where have you found to SJ in Cornwall. All I have seen on is SJ at Coombe Park on Sunday. By the way anyone know if the surface is ok there?

Surface at Coombe Park is top class & they are very friendly there. Not the biggest arena but a huge warmup.

you're right, it's at St Agnes and is sj and handy pony! Doesn't sound our thing, I took a quick glance and just read SJ!
Duchy have dressage on as do Coombe Park, you can't normally get into CP dressage late though, they get very full. Surface is fine there. Without checking I thought the sj at CP was evening?
We've arranged some dressage training instead for Sunday and now a family energency has made Saturday doubtful, looks like we may have to scoot off to see a sick relative..probably a good job B and W was cancelled for us, we may have been unable to go if F-I-L gets worse

Gutted they canceled, my pony's all reasy to go!! (I even packed the lory

)
Going to do some BSJA but it isnt the same.

I wanna go xc!!!

I take it you're going to Badgworth??

Fancy some xc schooling at SLM on Sat instead if they'll let us??

Def up for that- have you tried them???

Last year there was only a 1/4 of the rain we have had and it was very boggy and holding. I would be very surprised if it was still running.

Just had a look on the website for East Devon PC and it is running!

I went cross country schooling yesterday and normally the going there is amazing, soaks the rain up like a sponge! It is NEVER wet, but it was definitely on the sticky side and I even saw a puddle!!!!

So depressing - when is the rain going to stop??!!
