Does anyone use those fencer units where the battery and energiser are in one and you don't charge the battery but get a new one ?
How long do the batteries tend to last I'm those ?

An example of one

I've used one before and it worked well
I now use a leisure battery and new energiser - works out cheaper in long run I think. Mine worked well when I only needed fencing on for 6 months whereas now I have 2 energisers on various fences all year.

It shows 22 weeks.

I just checked and my energiser lasted 6 years. I'm not sure what happened last year but it stopped working - I suspect the horse stood on it when she escaped.
I used to use 5 rows of fencing because pony was a menace with it. I generally went through a battery a year.

I've just ordered this one.
Puts out the same joules as a set up at Mole Valley at a significantly higher price
