So we are looking for some flood lights for the arena for winter without having to dig up anywhere to put electricity through to them and worrying about planning etc.

So does anyone know of any good floodlights that run off rechargeable batteries or solar powered that woudl be able to light up a 20m circle "area"? The only solar ones I have found only have 10m range and only last an hour running off daylight energy from dec to feb!

Someone in my village recently got permission for a school (Major acheivement here I can tell you!!!) but not for lights. They have recently added basic solar lights on each fence post, it doesn't give them much light but enough for schooling and lunging and no one has complained, again major miracle here! I see them riding in there every night and whilst it isn't exactly floodlit they don't seem to be having any major issues!

I was looking for some for ages but couldnt find any worth the money.

So instead I bought a small generator (850w) and two floodlights, the sort you have in your garden/on your house and they light my 60x30m arena well enough to school and jump :)

Now they would complain about that in my village, light and noise  major no no ;)

A couple of tractor ploughing lights and a leisure battery, you could buy a solar panel , or a small wind turbine needs to be 80watts or more and cost about £250 or take the battery home and charge it of the mains with a car batery charger...
