I have a cob with a giant tongue and after a huge amount of time and money have found that the beris ported mouth seems best.
The bacher has worked well for the last year but I use the soft mouthpiece and it did get rough and now needs replacing.
If I remember correctly a Kimblewick is considered the next step up in severity from a baucher. I am happy with the baucher 95% of the time but fun rides can get a bit hairy.
Would the Kimblewick shown below be very similar to the baucher if I attatched the reins to the large ring at a 3pm position and then I'd have the option of the lower attachment if I need more control?
Also should it have a curb chain? Can't see how I'd attatch one.
The other option what I'd call a 2.5 ring gag with the rings overlapping.
Thanks for any insight.
