Baydale Hector before the tumble

Very nasty jump - but the SJ pics and action shots are lovely.

Hope you have a speedy recovery and that Hector returns to his great form which I have no doubts about him doing. xXx

I don't think you could ever describe Hector's xc style as "arrogant" TC, but we'd been working on maintaining "quietly confident", which is why I was so gutted and upset when I was lying on the floor.

T_H thanks for all the crossings and contortions.

That poor girl M, she must have been feeling more ill waiting to jump it than I was.

Lovely first pics of him. Then I think he is as bewildered as you are as to what has gone wrong.
Sadly I think he couldn't sort the maths out of that one, with having stopped already. Poor lad he will be feeling very sorry for himself & that he let you down.

Healing vibes on route for you all.

Fab pics!!
Seeing the last one, I remembered I had a very similar fall at a very similar fence some years ago. After we rolled, I landed inside the ditch and the horse outside; lucky me! We continued the course, horse didn’t loose his confidence.

T_H I'd like to see some vid of your riding like that please.

UncleJR I have thought of all the possible scenarios, and obviously me landing in the ditch and Hector not landing in it would have been a better one

, but I'm certainly not going to complain about how things ended up.

Fabulous pictures of the boy, he looks to be really operating in the sjing.

Having seen him go round last season it really is out of character for him to have such a whoopsy.

I agree with Kerilli to get some vids of you both and watch them and enjoy

It reminds me of the same accident I had at Aston in the Intermediate/Novice trakhener, Winston just wasnt with me, thought he could get in a little shuffle and ended up in the trakhner too

there are some great shots of us

thankfully he didnt try and keep going (those carthorse hooves weigh a tonne

) and went into the ditch rather than over the log.

Lovely SJ shots, your CB boys sure do "noble" headshots don't they?
smile.gif
And do you think he has enough scope, cos he's only just skimming over the fences isn't he?
wink.gif
Will PM you re the trak ones

What a vile fence. The ground falls away on the takeoff side, and looks as if it's breaking up, with a HUGE ditch underneath, and the approach looks none too good either.
((((((((((((((((((((((((((Big vibes for your and Hector's recovery))))))))))))))))))). You were lucky to get away with that. Great photos though, and his SJ looks terrific.

Eek those jumps are huuuge!!! I love the one over the first part of the double, doesn't look as if it's much trouble for him does it?!
That trakehner looks YUK, but I'm sure once you've done some practise over littler ones that'll convince him that the ditches won't eat him up and he'll be sailing over the bigger ones again in no time

like others have said there is no ISH about the oxer its just BIG,AWWW hes such a beautiful athletic big horse, with a lovely head and massive jump!! What can i say about the trak(i cant spell it let alone jump it) its a massive gappy/trappy, ugly, dark gloomy fence, and just horrid, the ground line is confusing and the whole thing looks totally uninviting and just horrid!! Your very brave, Hope your feeling ok today and H is ok, sending you best wishes for a speedy recovery!!
