Baydale's Back to Being Busy (long one, make yourselves a cuppa)

BD, I am tired just reading that! I like the sound of Marty - does he do the yank-the-lightweight-rider-out-of-the-saddle-with-his-gob-then-whip-round trick? If so, we should compare notes! What is happening with little Myrtle these days? What have you got planned for her?

Baydale came to support and encourage half the Forum at Draycott, which was, hum,four-ish weeks ago........... I have never seen anything move so quickly on two sticks! Able bodied teenager had to jog to keep up! So glad you are back on song (and,of course, still following Doc's advice!).
wink.gif

Glad you're back riding and they all went well. I have had similar experiences with lorries running out or almost running out of diesel when they're registering a 1/4 tank plus. I'm a bit paranoid about it now and get jumpy as soon as it goes under 1/2 way!

I think I could cope with the fuel gauge being back to front k9h, but might have to tape myself a reminder about where Empty is on mine.
mad.gif

Thanks jules89, I'm sore but thankfully am office-bound in Milton Keynes today, and Hector was v gentle with me when we did some flatwork at 6.30am - he was more awake than I was and did lots of changes, which always makes him happy.
grin.gif

You dare Sarah_Jane, he'd probably just roll his eyes and "I thought she would" (he's used to horsey women).
tongue.gif

_JetSet_ they all look like trotting poles when you're on the Huge One.
crazy.gif

Worried1, I had forgotten but will remember instantly next time he and I have a bad day. Although if Ron jumps 6'6" gates maybe we should do a straight swap now?
smirk.gif

Yay, it is so nice to read a report from you again
laugh.gif
I broke down 4 times in my Jeep and each time it was diesel, even though my gauge read 1/4 full...thing was I kept doing it, so please try not to be like me LOL!

He hasn't jumped it since it was raised to 6'6 although, he last cleared it at 5'4!!!! However I have seen him eyeing it up. I think he is trying to tell me he wants to jump.
But judging by the mess he has made of his stifles I don't think you would want him! bI don't even think I want him at the moment!
crazy.gif

There is always a stable for HH here

Oh he has a full repertoire of tricks: cantering sideways down the road and threatening to go either into the ditch or the hedge if I make him walk and stay straight; also being so indignant when I tried to make him walk that he span one way, then back the other as quick as you like, dumping me on my bum on the road; then (yes there's more) when I got back on and smacked him he took off flat out up the road.....nice.
mad.gif
He has a discipline problem.
smirk.gif

Myrtle is out in the field with her NBF (New Best Friend), Easter (yearling filly), bossing her about and making her play when she clearly doesn't want to. Might take her to the British Breeding in-hand classes in October, but ask my showing supremo mate to do the honours.
wink.gif

This may be a silly question but your consultant is going to sign you fit to ride at Aston I presume? He might not think that constitutes gentle jumping?

Great report! Great to hear you back at it.

Now i'm the one with nothing to ride..ahh well, if I get back at it like you then we'll be at Blenheim by September.

Of course he wants to jump, flying changes just aren't enough for most horses.
wink.gif

And I take it you've got big stables then, as laid flat out is his second favourite pastime after bucking.
grin.gif

Weezy - I'd never be forgiven by OH if it happened more than once.

I only told him about Keysoe PN on (sane and sensible experienced horse
crazy.gif
) Marty, so he signed me fit to ride. He knows I'm not on any drugs and I promised to be sensible, which I am, as it doesn't hurt to ride, just afterwards
smirk.gif
, and that's more general aching all over than just my sore seatbone (fracture) site. If I were a jockey I'd have been back competing by Week 6 apparently.

Chloe, you're odd, cheese scones and jam?
confused.gif
wink.gif

[/ QUOTE ]

Urgh! I didn't realise they were cheese ones! oh well maybe I'll scrap the jam........and have one with marmalade instead!
smile.gif
wink.gif

Great to hear that you are back in the saddle, jumps what jumps? Ahh but I might konw your consultant, what will it take to keep me quiet.............
No seriously so pleased that you are back in the swing of things, and an inspiration to all of us, I now feel like a right shirker, I am off to find my breeches and go for a quiet hack on daughters neddy after only 2 days of feeling sorry for myself with a stomach bug! That is will breeches stay up seem to have lost my spare tyre thank god!

Fabby report, clever boys to look after Mum so well and even make her happy, and PMSL at the empty lorry
grin.gif
grin.gif

Hope you were somewhere they could be unloaded relatively easily: it's happened to me twice, once they had to close the M50
blush.gif
and the other time we were at the Severn Bridge Toll Booths - imagine

Now this is more like it - Baydale's back where she belongs, on horseback

(Don't worry about all the threats to tell on you, consultant won't care and if he does - so what's he gonna do abaht it

You can do/wear what you like but I'll make sure we've got international breakdown cover just in case.
tongue.gif

[/ QUOTE ]

Well that would be the more conventional option, if you want to be boooooooorrrrrrrrrrrrring.......
tongue.gif

Look alwaysbroke, I managed to "motivate" you too without even trying.
tongue.gif

TD don't
shocked.gif
, I so nearly went up the A1 to go home then changed my mind; the policeman told me they'd have had to shut it to transfer the horses if I had, one way of getting my name in the local paper I suppose.
crazy.gif

Rosiefan, it's so good to be back (melodramatic, moi?
wink.gif
), I was grinning from ear to ear and babbling lots about how scrummy the ponies were - just as well there weren't many people there to embarrass myself in front of.

I've still got photos of the creative things we did with Pringles on the way to Malmo....
shocked.gif

Wow I see your starting nice and gently
wink.gif

They all sound very well behaved for your first foray out again!!!
laugh.gif

Ummmmm, which part of "NO JUMPING FOR 2 WEEKS" do you find particularly hard to understand?
mad.gif

grin.gif
How cool to be back and enjoying what you do best, I think you're nuts to do so much at once but then you must be a tough cookie
wink.gif
tongue.gif
But i'm so glad that you are back and fighting fit and obviously ready to event asap
laugh.gif

Must have felt fab to be on HH again and for him to be feeling so damn good, lucky girl

tongue.gif
That part/\ /\ /\: I have a speech impediment, I can't say or comprehend the "N" word.
wink.gif

Is it a bit like having your fingers in your ears going "lalalalalalalalalalala, I can't hear you"?
tongue.gif

Moi, tell you off? I'm hurt
frown.gif

grin.gif

Sorry, I can't hear you, I've got my fingers in my ears.
tongue.gif

You scared me with that telling off
frown.gif
but I can be rude back now that I know you were joking.
grin.gif

haha, just like War and Peace but not as depressing! love the epic!
So so good to hear all your boys were so good, woo hoo. Can't quite work out why Hector didn't get to go and play... or is he just too darned good already?!
I did snarf when you said you'd run out of diesel, but faulty sensor = totally exonerated.
