It's bloomin' cold here in Lincolnshire over night everything has frozen to the point where the lake we have growing in the spare field from constant rain on Saturday can take my weight  Ponio is turned out with her rug on and hay but at 11 I am going to go for a hack on her.

I have zero motivation, in the living room with the log burner going and wrapped up in a sleeping bag :D Some how the freezing cold wind doesn't appeal to either my toes or fingers..

What's it like near you today and what are you doing ?

*token picture * (not from today but last time it snowed)

It was horrible yesterday with that wind ! nothing to break it either being so flat, Tess is fine in wind etc, just the thought of going out in it doesn't appeal to me :o

Debating if i want to ride all 6 as ground super hard but also slippy. Combined with evil wind and event fit/young/spooky horses i may pick and choose!

Snow day here for us! Took me 5 hours to get home last night (usually 40 mins) and had to abandon the car and walk last 5 miles!

Couldn't get to H if I wanted to! (I suppose I could walk up there - about 6 miles up and down steep hills - but it would be treacherous underfoot - for him AND me!!)

Its freezing here in the Midlands too, i had to break ice on the trough at 6.45 this morning that was nearly an inch thick, hayed my oldie and youngster, checked under their rugs to make sure they were warm enough and left for work,

If i was at home today and had my boy still, I would be out like a shot providing the going was safe underfoot, grab every chance you can while you can you never know whats around the corner, wrap up warm and go for a nice ride, i know i wish i could :(

I am in Reading, it's sunny & windy but my god its blooming freezing. Shall be wearing many layers today as riding. I can't remember the last time it was this cold

Stay warm everyone.

Snow forecast here today, to replace the stuff that was washed away in the rain yesterday, windchill of -9C apparently. I wouldn't know, I haven't been out of the house yet :D

Im sure it was colder this morning then it has been all winter! The water in the stables was frozen for the first time

Have hacked out already, the sun is quite warm but the wind is bitter!

Im on the Midlands/welsh border.

Slightly better in the Pennines today than yesterday. Yesterday was bitter with blizzards and high icy winds. Today the winds are milder and its snowing less. Having to ferry water from the house to the stables as the tap and the well on the lane are frozen. By my final check last night at 11pm, their buckets were frozen solid in the stables, despite the top doors being shut too, so I had to carry more water buckets down then. I keep sitting inside, next to the radiator, wasting time on here, rather than going out doing something (although not sure what in this weather, just feel guilty doing nothing!).

I've had a week off work, and didn't ride much the first few days as it was windy and I had loads to do. Now the lanes are ice and snow, so haven't been able to ride since Fri cos of that. I will have had 11 days of work when I go back and will hardly have ridden! Just as we were getting going again after the last lot of snow.

I am tired of winter now.

Just think of those summer shows! I am feeling your pain! Trying to get my girl going well for showing this summer but the weather is just NOT helping!!
