I also did say that he would get plenty of pats - which OT gave him one of at the end. Its pretty obvious that the horse will get pampered for weeks!

the horse is a top 4* horse. it gets pampered anyway.
anyone who knows anything about training horses knows that a pat and a kind word are standard as a reward immediately the horse has been good.
as i have just said in the other thread, riders who love their horses AUTOMATICALLY pat them at the end of a round, no matter how overwhelmed they are. Think of MK on King William when he'd just casually had 6 down and lost her a big one. she didn't ignore him (or worse), she patted him.
anyway, you'll never convince me on this one. he may be an absolutely top class rider, but he's not a horseman. yet.
