Hmmm agree with you OP but unfortunately this has been going on too many years and I remember way back in the 1960's Lady Sayer and other people were warning that there was going to a problem with Dartmoor ponies in the future unless there was a responsible breeding and selection programme put in place.

Regrettfully she and others like her were ignored; which is why the current very sad situation exists, whilst the true Dartmoor pony has all but disappeared, apart from one or two isolated herds I understand.

But yes, let us hope that the message is getting through.
