Hi all

Went to BCA today and Saf was a very good girl.

Dressage - warmed up and she felt calm and supple, not my horse

so went in, same test as last week, felt it went well even the walk was better so came out happy.

The heavens then opened and we got soaked to the skin and I put Saf back on the lorry as the waterproof sheet was blowing off and it was thundering

Was so wet struggled to get my jacket back on. Oh had a glass of wine

SJ by now was flooded and decided to warm up see how she coped with the jumps in the warm up and make decision. Warmed up well so went in and they anounced my dressage score as 33.8, my god totally shocked as for Saf that is fantastic. The bell went I jumped fence 1 and the bell went again as fence 2 was still down

I was always told if its down, jump it, but they rebuilt and off I went again. Had one stop as the ground was horrid, I missed her a little had it been dry I'm sure she would have gone, circled around and jumped it fine, so no jumps down and 4 for the stop and 1 time, she was so muddy she looked like she had been XC

Onto the XC, the ground was perfect on the XC totally different to the SJ, had the pelham in again and she let me ride her again, such a great feeling better than S*x

We did all the short routes and it was a total blast, we went clear with only 10.4 time, our best ever time at novice as last year with no brakes always pulling and having from 27 to 54 time

Saf was amazing and another shock to my day, came 10th, my first ever placing at novice

Well done that is fabulous! I too have discovered the magic which is a pelham for jumping this season, bloody marvellous to actually be able to steer and bring them back to you isn't it? I find I can now let him bowl on between fences as I know the brakes are there if required, love it!

Great result and pleasing dressage score.
The conditions sounded awful tho, so well done for managing to complete all three phases.
Super to hear you got a place too, I often wonder if anyone who doesn't BE realises how many there are in a class, it's usual to get 40 plus so 10th is a real achievment.. and you got a rosette to prove it I hope!

Hiya!
Im still so pleased for you! I hope one day that Uvin will do as well as his girlfriend !
It was a really fun day, bring on the next one !
Sx

Like i said yesterday, I was thrilled to hear about your score.
Totally deserved to a lovely combination.

I hope you can get to Shipton Moyne

So glad you are all sorted now. Saf knows you are the boss!!
Shame about the ground in the SJ and the weather.

We had three days of rain at home this week, but the event we went to yesterday was only an hour away, and the owner said they had only had 1 days rain so the ground was lovely.
