He won't let us anywhere near his back legs, only just let us brush his tail the other day ! And it just become a right mess over the last year, it's horrible . So we rung this woman up and explained what he's like etc, all she said was 'we'll have a go at him.'

From our knowledge of this lady(never been before) she just tells us to pick him up in two hours.
We've heard of dog trimmes putting them in harnesses to cut them, I don't know if she's got one or what, but it'll be a massive help to her if she does as buddy isn't exactly a small dog lol.

Just thought i'd let you all know for some reason, any ideas on what they do at dog haridressers?

Never thought I'd hear myself say that lol.
Will post some before and after pictures though

!

She'll probably put a muzzle on him and then just get on with it. The dog groomer I know puts up with no nonsence and they sense that and generally behave really well with her.

Thanks for that info

My mum said she sounded like a 'dog person' on the phone, so fingers crossed buddy will understand not too croos the line with her lol!

I groom a fair few dogs that are rufused by grooming parlours and Im doing a rather aggressive Wheaton terrier on wednesday that will not let the owners or anyone that has tried groom him.....as suggested...I don't mess about....dogs are suprisingly well behaved in the hands of someone that does not give in to their threats....its pretty hard to place them in harnesses for the full cut as you cant get access to the whole body....they will atleast have either his head or back body restrained at one time and possibly a muzzle..until it's time to do the head

I have had dogs sent to me to sedate...they are seemingly that bad...and I have never had to sedate one yet.

You will be suprised how different he will react/behave in a different environment with a confident handler.....and Im sure he will come home stunning

I've seen him handled before by a experienced doggy person before and the change is unreal

Not that he's a naughty, bad, or aggressive dog in any way , he's just a bit nervous sometimes. Wouldn't hurt a fly though and is very clever being a BC. Going back to the experienced doggy person, it was in a training class and when he asked me to get him to heel *cough* and he pulled me around like a steam train. I handed him over to the person and within 10 minutes he had him heeling by his hip without a lead

Thankyou CALA, you have given me a new found confidence about taking him there!
