I'm hoping to qualify my new boy for AF at Novice Restricted in next couple of weeks with a view to taking him to one of the late Pet Plan area festivals in Sept/October as I think he'd benefit from gaining some experience at a bigger show. If he were to do well at that festival and qualify for the Area Festival Champs next year (long shot!) would that prevent us from competing at Novice Restricted regionals next February?

My understanding is that were he to subsequently qualify for the Nationals at Novice Restricted, we wouldn't be eligible to compete at the AF Champs, which is fine. However, I wasn't sure if qualifying for AF Champs prevented us from doing regionals?

No you're fine to do both, and correct if you were to qualify for champs at both you can only do the regional route.

Thanks Galaxy, that's how I understood the rules too, but wanted to check as wouldn't want to rule him out from regionals next year as I think in the next 6 months we're going to start really gelling together and he'll have had some time to mature and see the world a bit more and I think we could do a respectable test at regionals!
