oops! realised i posted this in NL by mistake!

Has anyone had one of these? was just browsing the rulebook for 2011 and as my horse was imported as a 10 year old, e get 450 points! given we are barely scraping mid-60's unaffiliated at novice, we need to downgrade, but we also wanted to give the area festivals a go, and you apparently cant compete at these within 6 months of a downgrading, so thinking of opting for an assessment instead. Can anyone tell me what it entails?

Yep - def go for an assessment. No limitations once that's been done - just go out and compete.

BD office will explain in full - but it involves going to an approved assessor who will watch you riding and look at the experience of the horse, then allocate points according to the experience shown.

If assessor thinks that you are trying to play down the horse's experience they may ride - but if it's clear that the horse hasn't done much, they probably wont.
