I really don't know. There is a short Q+A with the candidates (Jennie Loriston-Clarke and Dane Rawlins) : here
but it still doesn't reveal very much detail about what they have in mind for BD. I think that as a BD member I should vote, but I feel very uninformed. I would be very interested in hearing what others think!

DANE all the way

IMO Dane is going to bring a new and fresh look to BD, he has some fantastic ideas (so ive heard) and i think hes just what BD are looking for.

As great as Jennie is i really think shes had her time in the dressage world and i dont think shes going to bring anything exciting to BD.

Agreed.

I admire Jennie greatly but if you look at what Dane has done to Hickstead, I feel we need someone who can drag BD into the 21st century.

I thought his idea re. the unaffiliated riders was brilliant. For too long there has been a great divide and so many potential BD members out there with no real incentive to affiliate.

Agreed in principal about unaffiliated riders - but not sure how it would work in practice? Would people want to affiliate and would established unaffiliated leagues be willing to become integrated with BD?

Agree about Dane and Hickstead - he's done a splendid job there. Right - I'm bending towards DR. Any JLC supporters out there?

Its Dane for me too!

Jennie has done loads for British Breeding and the sport in the UK but Dane seems to be more innovative and willing to try different things.

Done a fantastic job with Hickstead

I think I would be torn. Feel slightly like I have to vote for Jennie because of who she is and all her achievements, but think in the end I will vote for Dane to shake things up a little. I think Jenny will get it though

Im gonna break the mould and vote J-LC!!! Slightly biased as i used to work for her so know what a great rider/trainer/ caring person she is and know she will put her heart and soul into it!

I'm torn too - DR will bring a moder commercialism but that has inherent fears for me... JL-C has acheived an awful lot and without too much of a fanfare, she clearly has a good business head to get Catherstone to the prominence it has enjoyed for so many years. Are we heading towards the political arena where charisma and 'looks' can count for a lot.... I still am on the fence!

Dane for definate. He is always looking for new ideas and knows how to motivate people and get things done.

Whilst I greatly respect JLC and everything she has done for British Breeding and Dressage in general I think I will be voting DR as I think the motivation and modernisation he can put into BD will do it more good than harm....
