Firstly..... what a beautiful day
I took Spider to do his first CT today. We'd had a jumping lesson Friday & he'd gone really well & was v happy to be allowed to jump & not made to go round in circles
We had early times which was good. He did spot the SJ when we got there, so I had to convince him that he needed to do dressage first before he could jump
He soon settled & warmed up well.
We were doing P13 indoors & he did a nice test - Getting an 8 for his entry
but he still goes a bit tense on me in the walk. A good downward transition for a 7, but then a 5 for the free walk & for the upward transition
The rest of the test was a mixture of 6's & 7's, so pleased with him. We got 63% which was just in the top half in a class of 25.
Onto the jumping
It was a lovely course, built by HHO's DEV, but seemed to cause a few problems & eliminations.
Spider was v happy to be jumping, & although he didn't really get going over the first 2 (a bit small I think
), he then got into gear & flew round to record a lovely clear.
I love the fact that I never doubt he wont jump what's in front of him & he's really careful & always try's to clear the fences
So we finished 9th
A good result as horses can have up to 125 BD points & there were some really nice horses there.
It was lovely to meet up with Nats-UK, as well as DEV, but didn't manage to see melle.
Then once I'd taken Spider back, I took Balou out on his first hack on his own. What a good boy, a bit looky but happily went out of the drive, through the woods & then came back on the road. We met a few cars, a van & a family on bikes, & he didn't turn a hair
V pleased with him as he seems so chilled for a 4yo.
Thanks for reading
