Today Mum took Honey and I to East Soley EC for Honeys 2nd BD competition and the aim of the day was to get qualified for Area festivals.

It was an early start as my tests were 9.14 and 9.45 so was up at 6, but at least I would home for lunch.

We arrived with plenty of time to get ready and warmed up and it is so nice being the 2nd horse on as the warm up was quiet with plenty of space

The tests were being ridden in their indoor and several horses were finding this very scary! In the first test, N20, Honey was a bit unsettled and not really together but it was an ok test. Then we had N27 which was about 25 minutes after the first test so I gave Honey a walk round then picked her up again for 15 minutes. She was more settled in this test but was feeling a bit downhill.

Anyway she got 61.4% in N20 and 61.5% in N27 to get her first BD points, we also came 2nd in both classes. However the mark on my sheet is wrong but the score that went on the computer was correct so hopefully the right score goes on to BD website.

Dressagechick was judging me today and I have to say I agree with her comments and marks. I have a clinic with Gareth Hughes next weekend so hopefully he can help me get her to become more uphill.

Here is a picture from the warm up

Hey well done. Did the indoor school have the scary light marks on the floor today?

DressageChick is a great judge - very fair and uses all the marks so you get a good idea of what you need to work on etc.

Do you go to East Soley often? Might see you there next time.

Yes the scary lights were there, mine is oblivious to the lights but there were several who were trying to jump them, and one poor girl who that the lights was the edge of the arena. One rider retired as the horse just wasn't having it.

First time we have been there, as I am at uni most of the time its a case of go where the shows are when I am home, but will no doubt go back if dates suit.

Well Done - East Soley is really spooky, my only attempt there ended in disaster so im not going there again! Its a rubbish road for us to get to it aswell which is a shame as its one of our nearer venues.

How's that for consistency?!! Well done!

I far prefer being in early - less traffic, both on the roads and in the warm-up!!!

P_G, a lorry did stuggle getting in as it was one very long lorry!! Its easy for us thankfully with it being just off the M4.

L_M We were very consistent, you should see the score sheets, collective marks were the same and got the same number of 7's and 5's (we can't do medium trot!!)
