BD - I'm confused!

I've just joined BD my friend tells me that I have to register my horse as well to compete in Novice, Elementary etc affiliated competitions. I thought I could enter on an unregistered horse. I f I can't why don't they just say membership etc is x£ and have done with it - seems a lot of pussyfooting around to me. Ho hum.

Yes, for Novice and above you need to register your horse aswell.
They're separate so riders/owners with more than 1 horse pay for more horse registrations, but only one rider membership.

I guess its for those with multiple horses. BSJA and BE do the same. Also for certain gradings you have to pay more for the horse while membership for the rider stays the same.
