having finally had the money to affiliate Shadow and an instructor with faith in him. I was wondering how regular the competions were for dressage in the above areas? I have an unaff comp on sat, but judging is so erratic in unaff comps i just want to plow into the BD affliated ones. Where are they usually held and are they often? I have only lived here since october so dont know all the venues yet.

Many thanks!

Exeter Equestrian Centre do one a month usually on Friday I think. Nice indoor school but warm up o/s. The Grange at Okehampton also do one a month again nice indoor school although warm up is little cramped. In the summer there is another one just o/s Exteter forgotten its name but it's ok. If you want to travel into Cornwall about an 1hr 15 min from Exter Tall Trees is a lovely venue and have won awards from BD 3 years running for their shows (scores are usually up before next one has finished test!)

I am sure there is a few more the other side of Exeter as well so you should have plenty of choice.

if your Exeter then first and foremost Exeter EC/Poltimore which is http://www.exeterequestriancentre.co.uk/ as they said they have an affiated at least once a month and is easy to get to.

Then you have Badgeworth about 1.5 hours up M5 and the Hand about 2 and a bit hours by lorry.

To south East you have the Grange which is about 45mins-hour from Exeter by lorry. You also have Tall Trees which is a good 2hour plus drive and not the best journey from Exeter direction but its another venue.

You have Kingston Maurward to the West which is probably 1h45 mins

Stockland Lovell which is just over an hour also occasionally has BD

To the South there is Duchy College which is proably 1hr 45 in a lorry.

Owww there is also Equi sense in Somerset and if up for a serious drive there is Hartpury, Summerhouse, Hunters and West Wilts or even Wales and the West.

In summer Wellbeck which is right near Exeter airport has shows, very small very low key but lovely shows and get some big names to watch in the young horse classes (Carl Hester is a regular now!).

You also get other venues appear in the summer, there are a series of shows in Cornwall for example and the Cornish dressage festival.

Hope that helps
