Well went to the BD regionals at The College E.C and how cool was it!
Left 4 hours later then we planned (oops
) abd despite countlass maps we still ended up taking a 20 mile scenic detour round the country roads of St Neots area! What fun
Got to the College at 10.20 last night and was totally lost about where to put the horse until we bumped into a lovely couple (only turned out to be FREESTYLER!!!) who helped us out, stuck the horse in the stable where he done his best to act like a real "lager lout" sloshing water everywhere and deciding that he was really enjoying this party!!!
Got to bed around 11.30 knackered!
Up at 5 to feed the horse and plait up, was doing that and realised that everyone and there horses had dissapeared, was like "surely they cant all be using the hose????????"
only turned out they were arena walking! (we thought the riders were just supposed to wander round on foot for a bit
) so threw tack on horse and so glad we did as it was fab being able to have a wander round.
Warmup Test was at 8.54, Nov 33 and wonderful instructor turned up to give us a hand, horse was fab in the warmup with some amazing horses and riders (a.k.a FREESTYLER
) Went in to do test and was lovely, clam obedet smooth, a little bit slow in places but nothing majorly wrong (and I remembered test...... always a plus
)
Got 65.2 which put us third in a close the restricted section and 8th overall, which I was sooo pleased with
Regional champ test, Nov 22 at 10.45, again was fab in the warmup and working bootiful! went in to do test (ONE OF THE JUDGES WAS JOHN LASSETER!!!) and muggins here forgot the test twice even though I had gone over it a couple of hundred times!!!!
but still a nice test minus the fact that we broke into canter in the trot to get 62.3 which I was pleased with, especially as instructor said that we may have been placed had I not messed up (have to give the others a chance
)
Overall a really cool day and loved every moment, especially drooling over some of the lorries and horses!
Sorry about the really indulgent post just thought i'd share!
xxxxxxxxxx
p.s GOOD LUCK ANYONE ELSE THAT HAS/WILL COMPETE!!!!
