BD Registration

Am I right in thinking it is the horse and rider that needs to be registered to compete and not the owner ?

Thanks

If the owner is not the rider and wants recognition then they have to be a member too.

If owner is not fussed then BD told me I could be down as ‘owner’ if Mum didn’t want to pay for the privilege.

I did this with BD and BE. Horse officially belonged to mum, including on the passport. I was down as owner for registration. With the blessing of the people in the 2 offices.

we did this for BE. it was ok for a bit, but it meant her rider did all the entries etc, which just meant they paid and I would pay her back. So I became the owner. I much prefer it, as at BE there are some benefits for being an owner, such as no fee for parking. At BS, there would be no benefit, as most comps are enter on the day. Not sure at BD, as im not affiliated in this yet …. Me and the ID mare are going to get there.

I registered myself as the owner of my horse (as I am) and my friend who was actually riding him and it cost me, whatever it it is now - £50 and in the 12 months we've been doing BD, its not been of any benefit to me. I've just given BD £50. I might as well have burnt £50. Horse and rider are registered and I wont be renewing my own registration, unless I have a sudden desire to do dressage. Which I doubt. Keep your money in your pocket AA.

Also you can all be associate members if you are doing Quest and Prelim. You only need to be full members if you are wanting to do championships.
