We went off to Richmond today to ride the 2 elementaries and had a fab day, not because of the results though

I got there and went to say hi to everyone, there were loads of people there I knew. We met up with Becki and the very pretty Hannah and saw her gorgeous box. I am so jealous.
After all the chatting I jumped on Gin who was very tense. The test was indoor and there is a long corridor up the side of the arena which leads to the canteen. Gin wasnt keen on the corridor at all, everything felt very tense and I didnt have much control. I also did my usual and went wrong.

I changed her into her double for the next test for a bit more control. All the horses were spooky though.
Again I got chatting and thought my test was at 3:50. I tacked up and went in to warm up when my number was called. I was next in and my test was actually 3:40. We had a quick trot round then in we went. Gin was still hated the corridor but felt much more relaxed.
We ended up 3rd with 60% in both tests. My uncle was there and he took over 100 photos

so I will post some as soon as I get them.

Well done.
When I first went to Richmond for SJ I was more concerned that Jenny would catch her eye in one of the mirrors round the arena and that would distract her rather than the cafe area but she was actually ok. I've only ever done dressage in the outdoor arenas though. Is anyone going on March 2nd? We are planning it for our 2nd affiliated outing.

I was considering going to that one but decided to do the one after that, Were only going if the tests are outdoors though.

There are a lot of distractions in the indoor.

I hope they are outdoors on the 2nd because I have entered class 1 and 4 and if they are just running one arena indoors I'm going to have a long wait between tests.

If they are I might skip the prelim and just do the novice and then I might even get a lie in in bed too.

Oh thats good to know. Jenny is fine in or out but I did wonder when I entered if I was being sensible doing classes so far apart. I think I should be ok then. Thanks.

- although probably no lie in then!
