Oh dear. BD Regionals next weekend. Maggie (horse) and sister are qualified for Prelim and Novice, and Maggie has not been worked properly since the middle of June. Issues with feet, lameness in hock, treatments etc... she now seems fine physically, but she is SO not ready for Regionals.

Not exactly a lithe athletic horse at the best of times, she is now fat, unfit, pretty lazy (apart from when it comes to bucking, which she manages with surprising athleticism) and stiff. And 17.2hh. Arrrrrgh, should we even bother? And with the usual predicted drop in scores expected at the regionals... oh dear.

Is anyone else going? Come and say hello - Maggie is a gigantic plain bay mare no doubt spinning and bossily grinding her teeth at the lovely horses in the warm-up, tiny rider on top.

You will recognise me as her nervous and embarrased groom feeding polos like coins into a slot machine. :-/

Sorry, had to laugh at the slot machine!!! I needed one of those to get on R!

She will do really well! Think positive and have a good time! (easier said than done, I know, I am such a hypocrite!).

You may well find that you do much better than you thought. Go!!!:D:D Glad she's been given the go ahead & now well.
My boys off games for the forseeable future atm im very upset, but he's off to Leahurst soon so i will then know what im dealing with.

I'm going!!! I'm on Sunday (think your classes are Sat??), I may pop over on Saturday though as my friend is competing in the Prelim!!

You should definitely go, I'm sure you'll enjoy it once you're there :)

Booboos - I'm just delighted its not me having to ride...

Sneedy - cool! What classes are you doing?

Dressagecrazy - I thought you competed only last weekend, has something happened since :-( ?

Yes i did, however went out yesterday to do 2 Mediums, took him off the lorry & he was hoping.
So on way back i dropped in a Vets & they have now taken it seriously as they saw the video we took & he was still 1/10th lame when we got to vets.:(

I am sorry to hear that. You've really had a hard time with it all, really feel for you. Do you have another ride, or will you have to take a break as well? :-(
