BD Veteran Champs

Did anyone go to the BD Veteran Horse Champs last year? What's it like?

Horse not back to jumping so I ventured into the dark side and joined BD, horse went better than expected so thought I might find us something to aim for.
It's pretty short notice so I'd be grateful to hear if the champs are worth a last minute push!

Sorry to ask! are you veteran rider or veteran horse? Or both!?

Only asking as if veteran horse you need to get passport overstamped (and join VHS from memory) which adds to the lead-in time and expenses incurred.
There's a thread on the BD forum at the moment, lots of people said it was a good fun experience last year but it does seem to be one of the more pricey champs with the overstamping and cost of stabling.

I was going to take Millie along but, as usual, she heard me planning and broke herself in the field so all her fun is cancelled.

Went last year. Good fun. Nice venue and everyone very friendly. Shame veteran horses on Friday this year.

Thanks moggy - yes, a bit unfortunate. I'm only about 2 hours away from VV so wouldn't be stabling, but it does seem pretty expensive
